Our home offers available beds for eligible residents, each with thoughtfully furnished, private living spaces. Residential State Supplement (RSS)
The Residential State Supplement (RSS) program offers financial and Medicaid support for adults with disabilities who want to live in a community-based home environment. At Red Fern Haven, RSS can be applied toward room and board, giving residents access to safe housing, daily supervision, and personal assistance. All services provided by Red Fern Haven are non-medical. If medical care is needed, we coordinate with qualified outside providers.

What is RSS?
RSS helps eligible adults use a combination of financial benefits and personal income to pay for living expenses in approved residential care settings. The program was created to encourage stability and long-term, person-centered housing options.
Program Details:

Monthly Rate: $1,600 covers housing, supervision, and personal assistance.

Personal Spending Allowance: Residents keep $200 each month for individual needs.
How to Apply for RSS
Approved residents typically receive benefits within a month of moving in.​

Who Can Receive RSS?
Eligibility requires:

Living in an OhioMHAS-licensed residential facility.

Meeting income and disability guidelines set by CDJFS.

Reporting changes in income, residence, or payee within 10 days to stay eligible.
